English-to-Thai Document Translation (Intermediate Level) – 30 Hours

This training is organized by the Professional Translators and Interpreters Society (PTIS),

under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI)

: A mandatory training program to prepare all candidates for the C-2 and C-3 certification test and C-2 and C-3 certified translators of SEAProTI.

Course Details:

Learning Format: Online (via Zoom)

Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays

Time: 09:00 – 16:00

Duration: 30 hours

Course Fee: THB 5,900 (including study materials)

Course Objectives and Highlights:

This course is designed to:

Train high-quality professional translators specializing in legal, business, medical, and other fields.
Enhance the skills of experienced translators to meet the demands of employers locally and internationally.
Prepare participants for the Certified Translator (C2 and C3) registration exams under the Peer Certification system.

Course Content:

Grammar review for translation and fundamental translation principles
Translation practice with legal and medical documents
Introduction to forensic linguists as expert witnesses
Document certification and professional ethics
Creating a translator profile and professionally reaching out to clients
Work management, such as creating quotations, invoices, and professional payment follow-ups
Exam preparation and understanding the criteria for Certified Translator registration

Instructors:

A team of experienced professionals with over 10 years of translation experience, along with guest speakers from various related fields.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be of legal age and capable of signing a legal consent form independently.
Must not have any professional or ethical conflicts preventing work as a translator.
Must not be affiliated with any organization that may harm the association’s reputation.

Application Process:

Complete the application form.
Selected applicants will receive payment instructions and receipts via email.
The club’s selection decisions are final.

Important Dates:

Application Deadline: February 29, 2024 (or earlier if fully booked)
Announcement of Selected Participants: March 1, 2024

Notes:

Participants must attend at least 80% of the total hours and complete all assignments to pass the course.
Certificates will be issued upon successful completion of the course evaluation.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

วัตถุประสงค์และจุดเด่นของหลักสูตร

หลักสูตรนี้มีเป้าหมายเพื่อ:

พัฒนานักแปลมืออาชีพคุณภาพสูง ที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญในด้านกฎหมาย การแพทย์ ธุรกิจ และสาขาอื่น ๆ
เสริมทักษะของนักแปลที่มีประสบการณ์ ให้สามารถตอบโจทย์ความต้องการของนายจ้างทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ
เตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับการสอบขึ้นทะเบียนนักแปลรับรองระดับ C2 และ C3 ภายใต้ระบบ Peer Certification

เนื้อหาหลักสูตร

ทบทวนไวยากรณ์ภาษาอังกฤษ และหลักการแปลเบื้องต้น
ฝึกแปลเอกสารใน ด้านกฎหมาย และ การแพทย์
ความรู้เบื้องต้นเกี่ยวกับการเป็น ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านภาษาและการแปล
การรับรองเอกสารแปล และ จรรยาบรรณนักแปลมืออาชีพ
การสร้าง โปรไฟล์นักแปล และการเข้าถึงลูกค้าอย่างมืออาชีพ
การบริหารจัดการงานแปล เช่น การออกใบเสนอราคา การออกใบแจ้งหนี้ และการติดตามค่าจ้าง
การติวสอบ และการเตรียมตัวสอบขึ้นทะเบียนรับรองนักแปล

ทีมวิทยากรที่มีประสบการณ์จริงในวิชาชีพมากกว่า 10 ปี พร้อมด้วยวิทยากรรับเชิญจากหลากหลายสาขา

คุณสมบัติผู้สมัคร

ต้องบรรลุนิติภาวะ และสามารถเซ็นเอกสารยินยอมทางกฎหมายได้ด้วยตนเอง
ไม่มีข้อขัดแย้งหรืออุปสรรคในการประกอบอาชีพนักแปล
ไม่สังกัดองค์กรหรือกลุ่มใดที่อาจส่งผลเสียต่อชื่อเสียงของสมาคม
