SEAProTI Shares Expertise on Becoming Professional Translators and Interpreters at Buriram Rajabhat University
On April 26, 2023, in Bangkok, Ms. Vanitcha Sumanas, a representative of the Southeast Asia Professional Translators and Interpreters Association (SEAProTI), was invited to deliver a lecture on “The Art and Science of Becoming a Professional Translator and Interpreter.” The session was part of an Intensive Workshop organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Buriram Rajabhat University.
The workshop, supported by the “BRU GoScopus Project” and the “HUSOC Translation and Interpretation Service Unit,” was inaugurated by Associate Professor Dr. Akarapon Nuamaaihom, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Buriram Rajabhat University.
Key topics of the lecture included:
- Interpreting in Professional Contexts: Basics of legal and medical interpreting
- Translation in Professional Contexts: Fundamentals of academic document translation
The event attracted graduate and doctoral students, university lecturers, and other interested participants from organizations nationwide.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

เมื่อวันที่ 26 เมษายน 2566 ณ กรุงเทพมหานคร คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส ผู้แทนจากสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้รับเชิญให้บรรยายในหัวข้อ “ศาสตร์และศิลป์สู่การเป็นนักแปลและล่ามมืออาชีพ” ภายในงานอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการ (Intensive Workshop) ที่จัดขึ้นโดยคณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏบุรีรัมย์
งานนี้ได้รับการสนับสนุนจาก “โครงการ BRU GoScopus” และ “หน่วยบริการงานแปลและงานล่าม HUSOC” โดยมี รศ.ดร.อัครพนท์ เนื้อไม้หอม คณบดีคณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏบุรีรัมย์ เป็นผู้กล่าวเปิดงานต้อนรับ
