SEAProTI Partners with WITA to Advance International Collaboration
and Professional Development for Translators and Interpreters
Bangkok, December 29, 2024 — The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI), led by its President Ms. Wanitcha Sumanas, and Dr. Heba Ezz Eddin, CEO of the World Wide Association of Translation and Interpretation (WITA), convened a high-level meeting to outline a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two organizations. The collaboration aims to create new opportunities for knowledge sharing and professional development for translators and interpreters across the globe.
The meeting focused on leveraging the strengths of both SEAProTI and WITA to enhance the professional capabilities of their members. The partnership will foster activities such as training programs, academic seminars, and international knowledge exchange initiatives.
SEAProTI, a leading organization in Southeast Asia, and WITA, headquartered in Dubai with a regional branch in Cairo, share a common vision to elevate the standards of the translation and interpretation profession to an international level.
Ms. Wanitcha Sumanas emphasized the significance of the collaboration: “Our partnership with WITA marks a significant milestone in expanding access to global resources and networks for our members. It will further solidify the professional standards in the field.”
Dr. Heba Ezz Eddin echoed this sentiment: “We are committed to connecting translators and interpreters worldwide. Working with SEAProTI, we aim to create new opportunities for progress in this essential profession.”
The partnership is anticipated to open new pathways for professional growth and foster stronger ties between translators and interpreters at both regional and international levels.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

SEAProTI จับมือ WITA เดินหน้าสร้างความร่วมมือระดับสากล พัฒนาวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่าม
กรุงเทพฯ, 29 ธันวาคม 2567 — สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) นำโดยคุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมฯ และดร.เฮบา เอสซ์ เอ็ดดิน ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร (CEO) ของสมาคมโลกเพื่อการแปลและล่าม (World Wide Association of Translation and Interpretation – WITA) ได้จัดการประชุมระดับสูงเพื่อกำหนดรายละเอียดการทำบันทึกความเข้าใจ (MOU) ระหว่างสององค์กร ความร่วมมือครั้งนี้มีเป้าหมายเพื่อสร้างโอกาสใหม่ ๆ ในการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และพัฒนาวิชาชีพสำหรับนักแปลและล่ามทั่วโลก
การประชุมดังกล่าวเน้นการใช้จุดแข็งของทั้ง SEAProTI และ WITA เพื่อเสริมสร้างศักยภาพในสายวิชาชีพของสมาชิก ความร่วมมือครั้งนี้จะส่งเสริมกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ เช่น โปรแกรมการฝึกอบรม การสัมมนาทางวิชาการ และการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ในระดับนานาชาติ
SEAProTI ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรชั้นนำในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ และ WITA ซึ่งมีสำนักงานใหญ่ในดูไบและสาขาย่อยในกรุงไคโร มีวิสัยทัศน์ร่วมกันในการยกระดับมาตรฐานวิชาชีพการแปลและล่ามสู่ระดับสากล
คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส กล่าวถึงความสำคัญของความร่วมมือครั้งนี้ว่า “ความร่วมมือกับ WITA ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญที่ช่วยขยายโอกาสให้สมาชิกของเราเข้าถึงแหล่งทรัพยากรและเครือข่ายระดับโลก รวมถึงสร้างมาตรฐานที่แข็งแกร่งยิ่งขึ้นในสายงานนี้”
ด้านดร.เฮบา เอสซ์ เอ็ดดิน กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า “เรามุ่งมั่นที่จะเชื่อมโยงเครือข่ายนักแปลและล่ามจากทั่วโลก การทำงานร่วมกับ SEAProTI จะช่วยสร้างโอกาสใหม่ ๆ ในการพัฒนาสายงานที่สำคัญนี้”
ความร่วมมือครั้งนี้คาดว่าจะช่วยเปิดโอกาสใหม่ ๆ ในการพัฒนาวิชาชีพ และเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ที่แน่นแฟ้นระหว่างนักแปลและล่ามในระดับภูมิภาคและระดับสากล
