SEAProTI Partners with Tourist Guide Association to Advance Professional Interpreters for Justice Project
April 10, 2023, Bangkok – Khun Wanitcha Sumanat, President of the Southeast Asia Professional Translators and Interpreters Association (SEAProTI), along with her team, met with Mr. Wirot Sitprasertnan, President of the Professional Tourist Guide Association of Thailand, to discuss collaboration on the “Professional Interpreters for Justice” (PI4J) project. The discussion emphasized publicizing the project’s objectives and goals, organizing training sessions to register interpreters with police stations, and determining appropriate compensation for volunteer interpreters through SEAProTI in accordance with the association’s regulations.
The Professional Tourist Guide Association of Thailand, established over 48 years ago, has been under the leadership of Mr. Wirot Sitprasertnan for seven terms. The association’s core mission includes supporting and protecting the rights of Thai tour guides from challenges such as zero-dollar tours and competition from foreign tour guides operating in Thailand.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

SEAProTI จับมือสมาคมมัคคุเทศก์ เดินหน้าโครงการล่ามมืออาชีพเพื่อความยุติธรรม
๑๐ เมษายน ๒๕๖๖, กรุงเทพมหานคร – คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) พร้อมคณะ ได้เข้าพบกับคุณวิโรจน์ สิตประเสริฐนันท์ นายกสมาคมมัคคุเทศก์อาชีพแห่งประเทศไทย เพื่อหารือความร่วมมือในการดำเนินโครงการ “ล่ามมืออาชีพเพื่อความยุติธรรม” (Professional Interpreters for Justice – PI4J) โดยมุ่งเน้นการประชาสัมพันธ์ให้ทราบถึงวัตถุประสงค์และเป้าหมายของโครงการ การจัดอบรมเพื่อขึ้นทะเบียนล่ามตามสถานีตำรวจ รวมถึงกำหนดค่าตอบแทนสำหรับล่ามจิตอาสาผ่านสมาคม SEAProTI ตามระเบียบข้อบังคับที่กำหนดไว้
สมาคมมัคคุเทศก์อาชีพแห่งประเทศไทยก่อตั้งขึ้นมากว่า 48 ปี โดยมีคุณวิโรจน์ สิตประเสริฐนันท์ดำรงตำแหน่งนายกสมาคมมาแล้วถึง 7 สมัย ภายใต้พันธกิจสำคัญ เช่น การสนับสนุนและปกป้องสิทธิของมัคคุเทศก์ชาวไทยจากปัญหาต่าง ๆ เช่น ทัวร์ศูนย์เหรียญ หรือการแย่งงานโดยมัคคุเทศก์ชาวต่างชาติ เป็นต้น
