SEAProTI Organizes Training Program on Document Translation for Visa and Work Permit Applications
On August 3, 2023, in Bangkok, the Professional Translators, Translation Certification Providers, and Interpreters Society (PTIS), under the supervision of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI), hosted a training program titled “Document Translation for Visa and Work Permit Applications.”
The morning session included lectures on crucial topics such as:
- The mission of the Department of Consular Affairs
- Document legalization procedures and related regulations
- Overview of the Apostille Convention and developments regarding Notary Public services
- Types of documents eligible for legalization
- Specific terminology and appropriate wording for document translation
The lectures were delivered by distinguished speakers:
- Ms. Siriporn Supanimitwiseskul, Director of the Information Technology and Communication Center, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Ms. Piyakhwan Chomchuen, Legal Officer, Nationality and Legalization Division, Department of Consular Affairs
- Ms. Suthasinee Puangchomphu, Document Translation Inspector, Nationality and Legalization Division, Department of Consular Affairs
The afternoon session focused on “Document Certification through Notarial Service Attorney by the Lawyers Council of Thailand and Insights on Document Translation,” presented by Attorney Theerapong Songkasri, owner of a law office.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

SEAProTI จัดอบรมการแปลเอกสารเพื่อขอวีซ่าและใบอนุญาตทำงานสำหรับนักวิชาชีพ
เมื่อวันที่ 3 สิงหาคม 2566 ที่กรุงเทพมหานคร ชมรมนักแปล ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามวิชาชีพ (PTIS) ภายใต้การกำกับดูแลของสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้จัดการอบรมหลักสูตร “การแปลเอกสารเพื่อขอวีซ่าและใบอนุญาตทำงานของชาวต่างชาติ”
การอบรมในครั้งนี้เริ่มต้นด้วยการบรรยายในช่วงเช้าเกี่ยวกับหัวข้อสำคัญ เช่น
- ภารกิจของกรมกงสุล
- ขั้นตอนการนิติกรณ์เอกสารและระเบียบที่เกี่ยวข้อง
- ภาพรวมของ Apostille Convention และ Notary Public
- ประเภทเอกสารที่สามารถนำนิติกรณ์ได้
- คำศัพท์เฉพาะและการใช้คำที่เหมาะสมในการแปลเอกสาร
โดยมีวิทยากรผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ ได้แก่
- คุณศิริพร ศุภนิมิตวิเศษกุล ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร สำนักงานปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ
