SEAProTI Organizes a Professional Interpreter Training for Tourist Police Interpreters Nationwide
On December 10, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) organizes a professional interpreter training program for 157 interpreters from the Tourist Police Office across Thailand. The event aimed to enhance the interpretation skills of Tourist Police interpreters and promote professional standards in the field.
The training featured key speakers from SEAProTI, including Khun Wanicha Sumanat, President of SEAProTI, who delivered a lecture on “Professional Interpreting” and best practices aligned with international standards. Joining her was Khun Peter Fretton, Honorary Member and Advisor to SEAProTI, Managing Director of Consulting Analysis Co., Ltd., and an interpreter at Lumpini Metropolitan Police Station with over 30 years of experience. Mr. Fretton shared valuable insights and practical experiences during the session.
The event was further supported by Khun Natchanan Nithirungruang, a Level 3 Certified Translator of SEAProTI, who performed simultaneous interpretation (SI) services professionally, ensuring smooth and effective communication throughout the training.
SEAProTI extends its gratitude to the Tourist Police Office for the opportunity to contribute to the development of interpretation skills among their interpreters. This collaboration is expected to elevate the quality of interpretation services within the Tourist Police Office and further promote professional standards for translators and interpreters in Thailand.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ร่วมอบรมล่ามวิชาชีพให้กับล่ามตำรวจท่องเที่ยวทั่วประเทศ
วันที่ 10 ธันวาคม 2567 เวลา 13.00-16.00 น. สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้รับเกียรติร่วมบรรยายในหลักสูตรอบรมล่ามวิชาชีพสำหรับล่ามแปลภาษา 157 ท่าน จากสำนักงานตำรวจท่องเที่ยวทั่วประเทศ ณ สถานที่จัดการอบรม โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อยกระดับทักษะการล่ามแปลภาษาของล่ามในหน่วยงานตำรวจท่องเที่ยว และสร้างความตระหนักในมาตรฐานวิชาชีพล่ามอย่างมืออาชีพ
การบรรยายในครั้งนี้จัดขึ้นโดยสมาคมฯ นำโดย คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ซึ่งได้บรรยายหัวข้อเกี่ยวกับ “การล่ามวิชาชีพ” และแนวทางปฏิบัติที่สอดคล้องกับมาตรฐานระดับสากล พร้อมด้วย คุณปีเตอร์ เฟรทเท่น สมาชิกกิตติมศักดิ์และที่ปรึกษาของสมาคมฯ ซึ่งเป็นกรรมการผู้จัดการบริษัท คอนซัลติ้ง อะนาไลซิส จำกัด และมีประสบการณ์เป็นล่ามประจำสถานีตำรวจนครบาลลุมพินีกว่า 30 ปี ร่วมถ่ายทอดความรู้และประสบการณ์ที่เป็นประโยชน์
นอกจากนี้ การอบรมได้รับการสนับสนุนโดย คุณณัฐชนันท์ นิธิรุ่งเรือง นักแปลรับรองระดับ 3 ของสมาคมฯ ซึ่งปฏิบัติหน้าที่ล่ามพูดพร้อม (Simultaneous Interpreter) ในงานนี้อย่างมืออาชีพ เพื่อให้การอบรมเป็นไปอย่างราบรื่นและมีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด
สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ขอขอบคุณสำนักงานตำรวจท่องเที่ยวที่ให้โอกาสสมาคมฯ มีส่วนร่วมในการพัฒนาศักยภาพของล่ามแปลภาษาในครั้งนี้ และหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่า ความร่วมมือนี้จะช่วยยกระดับคุณภาพงานล่ามในหน่วยงานตำรวจท่องเที่ยว รวมถึงส่งเสริมมาตรฐานวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามในประเทศไทยต่อไป
