SEAProTI Launches Specialized Training for University Translation and Interpretation Instructors
Bangkok, May 6, 2024 – The Southeast Asia Professional Translators and Interpreters Association (SEAProTI) successfully organized its first training program, “Enhancing the Competency of University Translation and Interpretation Instructors – Cohort 1,” from May 4-5, 2024, at the SEAProTI headquarters.
This program was designed to equip university-level instructors with specialized knowledge aligned with the demands of both domestic and international labor markets. It emphasized the critical roles of professional translators, certified translation approvers, and certified interpreters in various specialized industries, including law, medicine, technical documentation, and audiovisual translation for films and series.
The training aimed to enable instructors to incorporate this knowledge into their teaching curricula, fostering graduates with the skills and expertise required by today’s job market. Participants who completed the program are also eligible to register as licensed translation and interpretation instructors under SEAProTI, in accordance with the association’s internal regulations.
This initiative marks a significant step toward raising the standards of translation and interpretation professions in Thailand to meet global benchmarks. It also provides educators with opportunities to contribute to the development of specialized human resources that align with the needs of future industries.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) จัดอบรมเสริมศักยภาพอาจารย์ผู้สอนการแปลและล่ามเฉพาะทางในระดับอุดมศึกษา
กรุงเทพมหานคร, 6 พฤษภาคม 2567 – สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) ได้จัดโครงการอบรมหลักสูตร “เสริมศักยภาพอาจารย์ผู้สอนการแปลและล่ามเฉพาะทางในระดับอุดมศึกษา รุ่นที่ 1” ระหว่างวันที่ 4-5 พฤษภาคม 2567 ณ สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้
โครงการนี้จัดขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมศักยภาพของอาจารย์ผู้สอนการแปลและล่ามให้มีความรู้เฉพาะทางที่สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของตลาดแรงงานทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ โดยเน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของวิชาชีพนักแปล ผู้รับรองการแปล และล่ามรับรอง ซึ่งมีบทบาทสำคัญในอุตสาหกรรมเฉพาะทาง เช่น กฎหมาย การแพทย์ เอกสารเทคนิค และการแปลซับไตเติลภาพยนตร์หรือซีรีส์ในหัวข้อที่เกี่ยวข้อง
การอบรมนี้ช่วยให้อาจารย์สามารถนำองค์ความรู้ที่ได้ไปพัฒนาหลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนในระดับอุดมศึกษา เพื่อผลิตบัณฑิตที่มีทักษะและความสามารถตรงตามความต้องการของตลาดแรงงาน นอกจากนี้ อาจารย์ที่ผ่านการอบรมยังสามารถจดทะเบียนเป็นผู้มีใบอนุญาตให้สอนการแปลและล่ามในนามสมาคม SEAProTI ตามระเบียบภายในของสมาคม
โครงการดังกล่าวถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการพัฒนาวิชาชีพการแปลและการล่ามในประเทศไทยให้มีมาตรฐานระดับสากล อีกทั้งยังสร้างโอกาสให้ผู้สอนสามารถเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาบุคลากรที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะทางเพื่อตอบสนองต่อความต้องการของอุตสาหกรรมในอนาคต
