SEAProTI Announces the Credential Committee and Nomination Committee for 2025
17 January 2025, Bangkok – The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) is pleased to announce the members and critical roles of the Credential Committee and Nomination Committee for 2025. These committees play a vital role in maintaining the standards and quality of certified translators, certified translation verifiers, and certified interpreters in the region, as well as selecting qualified individuals for key positions within the association.
✅ Key Roles of the Credential Committee
- Reviewing Applicants’ Qualifications
Examine applicants’ details, educational background, experience, and supporting documents to ensure they meet the association’s established criteria. - Setting Standards and Assessment Criteria
Establish clear standards and certification criteria to maintain the quality of association members. - Conducting Interviews and Practical Assessments
Administer written exams, interviews, or practical evaluations to confirm the applicants’ capabilities. - Reporting Results
Submit the list of qualified candidates to the association’s executive board for approval. - Improving the Credentialing Process
Review and enhance the certification process to align with professional developments.

- Position: Honourable Advisor to the Credential Committee
- Role: Provide strategic guidance and help establish international standards.
- Natchanun Nithirungruang
- Position: Certified Translator Level 3 and Credential Committee Member
- Role: Evaluate applicants’ translation and certification skills, supported by a team managing applications and documentation.
- Bancherd Chanrungsri
- Position: Chairman and Registrar
- Role: Oversee the completeness of information and records of certified applicants, sign approvals, and announce results.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.
