SEAProTI and WITA Sign MOU to Strengthen International Collaboration in Translation and Interpretation
February 1, 2025 – The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) and the World Wide Interpretation and Translation Association (WITA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a partnership focused on education, professional development, and activities benefiting members of both associations.
Goals of the Collaboration
This MOU aims to promote joint efforts in various areas related to translation and interpretation, with a focus on:
- Organizing workshops
- Training programs
- Online webinars
Exclusive Benefits for Members
Activities organized under this collaboration will offer special privileges to SEAProTI and WITA members, including free or discounted participation fees. Non-members will be able to join at standard rates.
Key Training Topics
Future activities will include topics designed to enhance translation and interpretation skills, as well as language training in English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Thai, and other languages.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

เป้าหมายของความร่วมมือนี้
บันทึกความเข้าใจฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมการทำงานร่วมกันในหัวข้อต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการแปลและการล่าม โดยมุ่งเน้นไปที่:
- การจัดอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการ (Workshop)
- การฝึกอบรม (Training)
- การสัมมนาออนไลน์ (Webinar)
สิทธิพิเศษสำหรับสมาชิก
กิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ที่จัดขึ้นภายใต้ความร่วมมือนี้จะมอบสิทธิพิเศษให้แก่สมาชิกของ SEAProTI และ WITA โดยสามารถเข้าร่วมได้ฟรีหรือในอัตราค่าธรรมเนียมที่ลดพิเศษ ขณะที่บุคคลทั่วไปสามารถเข้าร่วมได้ในอัตราค่าธรรมเนียมปกติ
