17 เมษายน 2568, กรุงเทพมหานคร – ในสังคมที่ภาษาเป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญในการเข้าถึงสิทธิ การบริการ และความยุติธรรม การแปลเอกสารราชการจากภาษาต่างประเทศเป็นภาษาไทยอย่างถูกต้อง จึงเป็นภารกิจสำคัญของนักแปลวิชาชีพและผู้ตรวจรับรองการแปลที่มีมาตรฐาน อย่างไรก็ตาม ปัจจุบันยังไม่มีหลักเกณฑ์ในกฎกระทรวงที่รองรับบทบาทของสมาคมวิชาชีพในการตรวจสอบและรับรองเอกสารแปลอย่างเป็นทางการ สมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) จึงได้ยื่นหนังสือต่อสำนักงานคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาเพื่อขอเสนอให้มีการแก้ไขเพิ่มเติมกฎกระทรวง พ.ศ. 2540 ซึ่งออกตามพระราชบัญญัติวิธีปฏิบัติราชการทางปกครอง พ.ศ. 2539 เพื่อสร้างกลไกในการรับรองวิชาชีพแปลอย่างเป็นระบบและน่าเชื่อถือมากยิ่งขึ้น
