Wanitcha Sumanat, President of the Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI), and Natchanun Nithirungruang, Member of Credential Trustees, participated in the SEAProTI Annual Summit 2025 and delivered a presentation on February 8, 2025.
This annual summit served as a crucial platform, bringing together translation and interpreting experts from Southeast Asia and beyond to discuss industry trends, directions, and advancements in professional standards, quality assurance, and emerging opportunities for translators and interpreters.
Wanitcha and Natthanun played a key role in discussions on:
- Professional standards and qualifications for translators and interpreters at both regional and international levels.
- The development of a credentialing system to enhance the professional standards of practitioners.
- Training strategies and career opportunities for translators and interpreters in the digital and AI era.
- Collaboration between SEAProTI and government agencies, private sector organizations, and academic institutions to build a strong support system for the profession.
This summit was also part of SEAProTI’s 2025 professional development plan, which includes:
- The establishment of an MOU with professional associations in Thailand.
- The Witness Protection Interpreters Project to ensure interpreters are endorsed by law enforcement or credible figures.
- The upcoming SEAProTI x WITA Online Conference to promote knowledge exchange among language professionals.
The participation of Wanitcha and Natthanun in this event underscores SEAProTI’s commitment to elevating the translation and interpreting profession to higher standards and gaining greater recognition on the international stage.

The Southeast Asian Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (SEAProTI) has officially announced the criteria and qualifications for individuals to register as “Certified Translators,” “Translation Certification Providers,” and “Certified Interpreters” under the association’s regulations. These guidelines are detailed in Sections 9 and 10 of the Royal Thai Government Gazette, issued by the Secretariat of the Cabinet under the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, dated July 25, 2024, Volume 141, Part 66 Ng, Page 100.

8 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568, กรุงเทพมหานคร – คุณวณิชชา สุมานัส นายกสมาคมวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (SEAProTI) และคุณณัฐชนันท์ นิธิรุ่งเรือง กรรมการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติ (Member of Credential Trustees) ได้เข้าร่วม การประชุมประจำปี SEAProTI Annual Summit 2025 และร่วมบรรยายเมื่อวันที่ 8 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568
การประชุมประจำปีนี้เป็นเวทีสำคัญที่รวบรวมผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านแปลและล่ามจากภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และนานาชาติ เพื่อหารือเกี่ยวกับแนวโน้ม ทิศทาง และความก้าวหน้าของวิชาชีพ ทั้งในด้านมาตรฐาน คุณภาพ และโอกาสใหม่ๆ สำหรับนักแปลและล่าม
คุณวณิชชาและคุณณัฐชนันท์มีบทบาทสำคัญในการอภิปรายเกี่ยวกับ
- มาตรฐานวิชาชีพและคุณสมบัติล่ามและนักแปล ในระดับภูมิภาคและระดับสากล
- การพัฒนาระบบการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติ (Credentialing System) เพื่อยกระดับมาตรฐานของผู้ประกอบอาชีพ
- แนวทางการฝึกอบรมและโอกาสทางอาชีพ สำหรับล่ามและนักแปลในยุคดิจิทัลและ AI
- ความร่วมมือระหว่าง SEAProTI กับหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และสถาบันการศึกษา เพื่อสร้างระบบสนับสนุนที่เข้มแข็ง
การประชุมนี้ยังเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของแผนพัฒนาวิชาชีพนักแปลและล่ามในปี 2025 ซึ่งรวมถึง การจัดตั้ง MOU กับสมาคมวิชาชีพในไทย, โครงการ Witness Protection Interpreters, และ SEAProTI x WITA Online Conference ที่กำลังจะมีขึ้น
